the staff were polite and friendly and we could come and go as we pleased
the heating wasn't on in the evenings so we couldn't have a hot shower when we wanted to get ready to go out

"The hotel staff are very friendly and the accommodation is very clean and comfortable. For the price I paid in such close proximity to Edinburgh City Centre I was very impressed. The breakfast was very nice. All in all an excellent budget hotel." (99583239)
It was a large room and was well furnished.

"Having checked in before room ready - and paid in full for my stay - I would have appreciated having my bag put into my room. When I arrived back at the hotel at 11.15 pm, the dining room where I had been told to put my bag, was locked and there was no response to the bell. This meant phoning the manager who initially was not willing to do anything, but who did agree to make a phone call to a staff member who then appeared to unlock the room." (97306358)
Convenient for transport into city centre. The two staff members I met were friendly.
Sharing bathroom/toilet not accetable especially as there was a problem with the bathroom door which appeared to come off its hinges and therefore was not able to be shut.

"Overall good value, many more expensive hotels do not offer breakfast included. The breakfast offered very good choices. The beds were comfortable. Perhaps double glazing on the rooms at the front would help with traffic noise." (97605162)
The hotel did not pretend to be any more than B&B and for this purpose was quite adequate. It was within easy walking distance of stations, shops and Edinburgh Castle.
The toilet and shower facility was poor, not because it was shared which we were aware of, nor was it unclean, but it was very poorly maintained and did not afford any privacy.

"Good location just a couple of minutes walk from the station. Very welcoming & friendly staff. The room was clean & all the facilities worked as they should. Would certainly stay again although I would try to find somewhere with a later check out time first." (99161497)

"The room was basic which is all we required if we had been staying longer we'd have opted for a larger room with on suite. The staff really friendly and helpful a good night stay." (97817059)
The good points the staff were friendly, helpful the room was basic but adequate breakfast was nice although on the small side.
No bad points to speak of maybe there could of had a bar, hotels down the street allow non residents, apart from that no real issues

"Overall it was a very pleasant stay in clean accomodation, and excellant breakfast. Next time I will need to ask where the room is situated and what size the bed is!" (99372565)
It was easy to find. Very clean, and the staff very helpful
The bed was too small (husband 6'6 tall) and it was on the top floor 50steps, and it was a tiny room.

"My stay was very comfortable and enjoyable and the breakfast was lovely. The staff were very pleasant and helpful and I will definitely stay there in the future on my regular trips to Edinburgh" (99078559)
was excellent location at the Haymarket end of Princes St. Very good value for central Edinburgh as I usually pay about £70 for not much better room or facilities. Room and bathroom was excellent size.
They are upgrading the hotel which was obvious and the owner did apologise about this but it didnt cause me any inconvenience to be fair. residents parking in street outside so no chance of parking. However parked overnight in NCP for £6 but would be a problem for a long stay. However I often dont take my car and would get off the train at Haymarket and it would be ideal.

The hotel is in a good location within easy walking distance of the centre of Edinburgh and very near to Haymarket station. I would have no hesitation in booking to stay at the hotel in the future." Sehr freundliches und bemühtes Personal. Innenstadt in 15 Minuten Fußweg erreichbar.
Sanitäre Anlagen (Dusche) in typisch britischem Stil, nach deutschem Standard in schlechtem Zustand.
